DirectSeat policies
Privacy Policy
This policy describes the information DirectSeat handles to provide accounts, expert profiles, bookings, payments, and service communications.
Last updated October 9, 2026
1. Information used by DirectSeat
Depending on how you use the service, DirectSeat may handle:
- Account information: your name, email address, and information needed to authenticate, verify, or recover your account.
- Profile information: a profile image, biography, title, expertise, availability, meeting price and duration, social links, ratings, and reviews you submit. Expert profile information you publish can be visible to other visitors.
- Booking information: meeting participants, schedule, duration, fee, meeting status, cancellation or rescheduling details, and information needed to provide the meeting link and related notices.
- Payment and payout records: payment status, transaction references, refund status, subscription status, and the PayPal email address used to arrange payouts. PayPal processes booking payments and membership subscriptions; DirectSeat keeps related booking and transaction records.
- Communications: information you send us and operational messages about account verification, bookings, cancellations, rescheduling, or payments.
2. How information is used
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, and support accounts and expert profiles;
- show public profiles and make booking and scheduling features work;
- coordinate meetings between their participants and send related notices;
- record payments, subscriptions, payouts, cancellations, and refund processing; and
- respond to support requests and protect the service from misuse.
3. When information is shared
Public profile information is shown to people browsing DirectSeat. For a booking, the expert and customer receive the names, email addresses, schedule, and booking details needed to coordinate their meeting; a meeting link may be shared with its participants.
DirectSeat uses service providers to operate parts of the service. PayPal receives the information needed to process booking payments, membership subscriptions, and payouts. Resend is used to send account and transactional email. UploadThing stores profile media uploaded to DirectSeat. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.
We may also disclose information when needed to respond to a valid legal request, protect users or the service, or address suspected fraud or misuse. DirectSeat does not sell account or booking information as a product.
4. Your choices
You can review and update profile information in your account. To ask about access to, correction of, or closure of your account, contact us through the contact page. We may need to keep some transaction or booking records to operate the service, resolve disputes, or meet applicable requirements.
5. Storage and retention
DirectSeat stores information in its application database and uses service providers for email, payments, subscriptions, and profile media as described above. Information is kept for as long as needed to operate the service, support bookings and transactions, address disputes or misuse, and meet applicable requirements. The period can depend on the type of information and the circumstances.
6. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version and its update date will appear here. For privacy questions or requests, use the DirectSeat contact page.
